Orange's auto repair shop has been in business in Jeannette for 35 years
Mark Orange, owner of Orange's Auto Radiator and Body Repair, has been in business in Jeannette since 1978.
Prior to taking over the business, his older brother did body work at the same location in the early 1970s.
“Right out of high school is when I got into it,” said Orange, a graduate of Jeannette High School and Central Westmoreland Vo-Tech.
Orange studied auto mechanics while at the vocational technical school.
“I took night classes for emissions when that first came out,” said Orange.
He is also a certified state inspector through PennDOT. Orange also keeps up to date in other areas of his field and has been certified in painting.
Orange has two other employees in addition to himself at the shop. At one time, he had as many as eight employees, but has downsized over the years, cutting hours so the garage is not open on Saturdays and eliminating one of his tow trucks.
The shop specializes in auto body repair as well as regular mechanic work.
Orange's Auto does only collision work, not rust restoration, and works with most insurance companies. Orange has two trucks that are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies and other towing needs.
“I treat my customers good,” said Orange. “I have a lot of repeat customers. I try to give the fastest service I can. I try to get them (customers) in and out.”
Orange has recently moved back to Jeannette. As both his parents have passed away, he now lives in the family home. He is the father to one daughter, Lara Orange, who is studying business at the University of Pittsburgh and is a full-time bakery manager at Giant Eagle in Belle Vernon.
An avid hunter, Orange also loves to golf and belongs to the Jeannette Golf League and golfs on Thursday nights. He also likes to restore cars and recently sold a Corvette.
Orange's Auto Radiator and Body Repair is located at in the 200 block of 11th Street in Jeannette.
The shop offers state inspection and emission, wheel alignments, air conditioning repairs, computer diagnostics, mechanical repair, radiator repair, tires and collision work.
Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
