The original members of Duran Duran, releasing their first album together in 21 years, feel like a new group again.
"Everyone calls it a reunion," says keyboardist Nick Rhodes, "but it's more of a 'We're back together and we've started from the bottom and worked our way up to where we are now' again with the album. It really does feel the same with putting out a first album. Granted we've all had a lot more experience since then, but every single process we went through then we've had to go through now."
The British quintet, which logged early 80s hits such as "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Rio," "Union of the Snake" and "The Reflex," got together again in 2000 and has been recording the new "Astronaut" album since 2001. It marks the original lineup's first studio project since "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" in 1983.
Duran Duran will tour in support of "Astronaut," but dates have not yet been announced.
