If you were looking for an upset, you couldn’t find it here. The frontrunners in the Pittsburgh and Suburban Rifle League continued their winning ways, with the team with the better record prevailing in every match last week. Frazier-Simplex (11-1) beat Green Valley (3-8) 1484-1424, Dormont-Mt. Lebanon (11-1) beat White Oak (7-5) 1474-1468, Clymer (7-5) downed Allegheny (1-11) 1461-1405, and Murrysville (7-5) beat Irwin Post 228 (0-11) 1450-1344. Four shooters — Dave Cramer and John Husk of Frazier-Simplex, Dean Trew of Dormont-Mt. Lebanon, and Ray Harvey of White Oak — shared the top score with 298s. Tom Santelli of Frazier-Simplex was high junior with a 295 and Melissa Stagon was high lady with a 294. East Monongahela Sportsmen’s Club holds 25-yard pistol pin shoots Mondays from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and 50-yard pistol pin shoots Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Trap practice is Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. All events are open to the public. Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club hosts skeet, trap and five-stand shoots from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. White Oak Rod and Gun Club will hold a sporting clays shoot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 13. The kitchen will be open and there will be prizes. The club will hold its Winter Invitational sporting clays shoot March 5. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 19. There will be coffee and donuts inthe morning and an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be prizes, too.
