The regular monthly membership meeting of the Fayette County Sportsman Association will be held at 7 p.m., June 14 at the South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club.

Star Junction Fish and Gun

The Star Junction Fish and Gun Club will hold a special general membership meeting at 2 p.m., Sunday.

SC Rod and Gun

The South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club will be holding a hunter/trapper safety class from 6-10 p.m., June 24 and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., June 25. Students must attend both days. Students must be at least 11 years of age to attend the classes. Class size is limited. For more information, call Scott Blocker at 724=626-8399.

Basketball

Summer league

Any boy who will be entering 10th grade or who is under the age of 21 is eligible to participate in a summer basketball league at Cameron Court. Registration will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday and June 13 and 15 at Cameron Court. The cost is $20. For more information, call 724-628-6188 or 724-628-7531.

Skills camp

Penn State-Fayette will host a girls summer basketball skills development camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 13-16. The camp is open to girls in grades 4-12. The cost is $100 per camper. The camp is under the direction of the California University of Pennsylvania women's basketball coaching staff and players. For more information, call Jenni Morrison at 724-430-4100, ext. 4515.

Basketball school

Penn State-Fayette will be having its annual basketball school from 8:30 a.m. to noon, June 27-30. The school is for girls and boys in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. Students should bring a basketball with them. For more information, call Jes Hutson at 724-430-4100, ext. 4886.

Running

Run for Fun Camp

The Frazier cross country team will host its Run for Fun Summer Camp from 9:30-11 a.m., June 21-22 at Sampey Park. The camp is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. All participants will receive an award and be eligible for T-shirts and other prizes. The camp is designed to introduce young students to the sport of cross country running. Woodruff 5K

The 23rd annual John Woodruff 5K Run & Walk will be held at 7 p.m., July 6. The race will begin at Connellsville Stadium. Registration is $15 if mailed by July 2 and $18 from July 4-6. The cost for high school track members is $10 with a coaches signature. Early packet pick-up will be held at New Haven Hose on July 5 from 6-9 p.m. Checks can be made payable to the John Woodruff Club, 710 South Arch St., Connellsville, Pa., 15425.

Softball

PS-Fayette

Penn State-Fayette will hold softball clinics on June 25 for girls ages 10-18. A pitching camp will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon. A hitting camp will be offered from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $30 per participant. For more information, call Jenni Morrison at 724-430-4100, ext. 4515.

City Ball Heat

City Ball Heat will host a summer softball camp Monday through Thursday this week and the week of June 13. The camp will be open for girls ages 7-17. The main focus will be fielding, batting and pitching. The cost is $125 per person. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at Woodruff Park. Cheerleading

CAHS parents

The Connellsville High School Cheerleader Parent Organization will meet at 6:30 p.m., today at the high school. All parents are urged to attend.

Golf

Highlands Hospital outing

The 16th annual Highlands Hospital outing will be held on Aug. 15 at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Registration and breakfast will begin at 9 a.m., followed by golf at 11 a.m. The cost for each player is $175. For more information, call 724-626-2353.

Falcon Open

The second annual Connellsville Falcon Football Open will be held Saturday at Duck Hollow Golf Course. Registration will be held from 8-8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. The event is a four-person scramble. The cost is $320 per foursome. Dinner and prizes will be included at the completion of the tournament. LH outing

The second annual Laurel Highlands Foundation Golf Outing will be held at 1 p.m., June 25 at Donegal Highlands Golf Course. The event is a four-person scramble and the cost is $60 per player. Geibel outing

The annual Geibel Catholic Golf Outing will be held July 8 at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. Proceeds will benefit the Geibel Catholic Athletic Council. The cost is $100 per golfer or $400 per foursome. The cost is $350 per foursome if signed and paid by June 15. Penn State outing

Penn State-Fayette will hold the third annual Blue & White Golf Open at 11 a.m., Friday at Uniontown Country Club. The event is open to the public and all proceeds benefit the Penn State-Fayette Alumni Society Award Fund. For more information, call 724-430-4190.

Baseball

C'ville Little League

The Connellsville Little League will be hosting a baseball camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday at the 12th Street field. The camp will be directed by former Pitt and Point Park coach Mark Jackson. The camp is open to players ages 6-12. Registration forms can be picked up at the Connellsville Little League fields. Penn State-Fayette will hold an adult co-ed volleyball league, beginning Tuesday.
