Oct. 16 – Draws a resounding cheer when he runs over and knocks the helmet off Boston College cornerback Peter Shean for a first down; rushes for career-high 55 yards in 20-17 overtime victory at Heinz Field.
Nov. 13 – Named Walter Camp national offensive player of week after becoming first player to throw for five touchdowns at Notre Dame Stadium, passing for 334 yards in leading Pitt to a last-second 41-38 victory.
Nov. 25 – Completes four third-down passes and then scores on a 2-yard run to clinch a 16-13 victory over West Virginia.
Dec. 4 – Passed for a career-high 411 yards, completing 67.8 percent (19 of 28) of his passes and throwing five touchdowns with no interceptions in a 43-14 victory at South Florida to clinch a share of the Big East Conference championship and a spot in the Bowl Championship Series at the Fiesta Bowl.

Sept. 2 – Completes his first seven attempts — to six different receivers — and finishes 77 percent (17 of 22) for 283 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-13 victory over Virginia in the season opener at Heinz Field.
Sept. 8 – Threw three touchdown passes for the second consecutive game, passing for 267 yards in a 33-15 victory over Cincinnati.
Sept. 16 – Passes for 277 yards (28 of 47) and two touchdowns, but throws two interceptions and loses a fumble in a 38-23 loss to Michigan State.
Sept. 23 – Completes 88.2 percent (15 of 17) of his passes — sixth-highest in Big East history — for 313 yards and four touchdowns to four receivers with no interceptions in a 51-6 victory over The Citadel.
Sept. 30 – For the second consecutive week, completes 80 percent of his passes (12 of 15) for 172 yards and two TDs in 45-3 victory over Toledo.
Oct. 7 – For third consecutive week, completes 80 percent of passes (20 of 24 for 83 percent) for 177 yards and a touchdown and scores on a 1-yard run in a 21-11 victory at Syracuse.
Nov. 4 – Streak of attempts without an interception ends at 118 when USF picks off two passes in a 22-12 loss.
Nov. 11 – After completing 80 percent of passes (20 of 25) for 234 yards and three touchdowns, has ball taken out of his hands when Panthers run on eight of last 12 plays in a 46-45 double-overtime loss at Connecticut.
Nov. 16 – Passes for season-high 341 yards — the ninth 300-yard game of his career — on 28 of 37 passing, throwing two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 45-27 loss to West Virginia at Heinz Field.
