Parkvale promotes manager to VP

  • Parkvale Bank named Commercial Services Manager Chris Trombetta vice president. He joined the bank in 2002 as a commercial loan officer and in January 2006 was elected senior assistant vice president. Investment Portfolio Manager Kevin McCarthy was elected senior assistant vice president. He was elevated to assistant vice president in December 2005. Traci Bycura was elected senior assistant vice president and promoted to accounting manager. She joined the bank in 1986 as an accounting clerk and in December 2003 was elected assistant vice president. James E. Mastroianni was elected assistant vice president, coinciding with his new position as branch administrator. Previously, he was branch manager of the bank's Robinson office.

  • William P. Hankowsky, chairman, president and CEO of Liberty Property Trust, joined the Citizens Financial Group Board of Directors.

Education

University of Pittsburgh Family Enterprise Center named Kenneth Bohl its first full-time director. Bohl is a third-generation member of his own family's business, IDL Merchandising Solutions, where he worked for 25 years. The family sold the business in 2005.

Health care

Diane Oettinger assumed the position of infection control R.N. in the performance improvement department of Family Hospice and Palliative Care. Previously, she provided direct nursing care for the hospice patients and their families. Nick Petti accepted the position of manger of volunteer services. Previously, he was a social worker with the hospice.

Technology

  • At Pittsburgh Technology Council, Catalyst Connection, Doyle Center for Manufacturing Technology and Pennsylvania NanoMaterials Commercialization Center: Dana Takach was promoted to front office and human resources administrator for all four organizations. Prior to her promotion, she was front office administrator for all four organizations. Richard Tarczy was hired as a controller for all four organizations. Previously, he worked at Henry Rossi & Co. and at Mellon Bank. Mary Thomas was hired as peer network manager for Pittsburgh Technology Council. She most recently worked at Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. as director of programming. Debbie Wright was hired as a Web developer for all four organizations. She previously worked as an intern at the council and affiliated organizations. Jennifer Young was hired as managing director of the council's advanced manufacturing network. Previously, she was economic development manager in the office of former Congresswoman Melissa Hart.

  • HyperActive Technologies Inc. named Dave Douglas to its board of directors. Currently, Douglas is a restaurant technology consultant and adviser. Previously, he launched RetailDNA and founded Restaurant Management and Control Systems.

  • At Secon Corp., Marcy Reid was promoted to vice president, leasing and marketing. She joined the company in 1999.

  • General Industries named H. Van Evans project development coordinator/project manager. He has 20 years' experience.

  • Fiduciary360 named Diane Trone head of marketing. She has 22 years' experience.

  • The Ironworker Employers Association of Western Pennsylvania elected these officers and directors: President Bob George , Abate-Irwin Inc.; Vice President John Murray Jr. , Chemsteel Construction Co.; Secretary-Treasurer Frank Lagoni, Lagoni Erection Inc.; Donn Taylor , Century Steel Erectors Inc.; Frank Altavilla , Tri-City Steel Inc.; Bill Trauterman , ICEI; Lance Abate , Dillon Construction Inc.; Denny Harmon , Dick Corp.; and Gordon Kidd , G.   • Linus Craig was hired as City Theatre's director of education. He most recently was education coordinator at Alley Theatre in Houston. Craig has taught in both elementary and high schools, served as a teaching artist with the Dallas Children's Theatre and was artistic director for Unhinged Productions.

  • H. B. Maynard and Co. Inc. hired these recent graduates as consulting analysts: Stephanie Carnes, Bill Greier, Chris Hritz, Chris Kelly , Sarah Lawson, Chris Powis and Melissa Williams.

  • Printing Industries of America Inc. and Graphic Arts Technical Foundation promoted Daniel Remaley to senior technical consultant. Previously, he was the organization's process controls manager. He has 35 years' experience.

  • Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council elected as President Jeffrey L. Fry , superintendent at Lebanon Country Club; Vice President Thomas R. Bettle , Birdsfoot Golf Club; Secretary-Treasurer Michael Zedreck , Pittsburgh Field Club. Newly elected to the board are Greg Fantuzzi, Carlisle Country Club; and Tony Leonard, Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Justin W. Gunther was appointed Fallingwater's curator of buildings and collections. Gunther previously served as manager of restoration at George Washington's Mt. Vernon, where he also supervised the architectural fragment collection. He is the author of the book "Historic Signs of Savannah," Arcadia Publishing, 2004, and the recent article "Mount Vernon: An Architectural Identity," Society for Commercial Archaeology.

  • Anson Whaley joined Trans Associates' Pittsburgh office as a marketing coordinator. He has seven years' agency experience.

  • Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, announced Patrick Hennon as sales manager for the Digital Publishing Platform. Previously, he was classified sales manager at Trib Total Media.

  • Groundwater & Environmental Services Inc. promoted Matthew J. Cutshall to project manager. He has been with the company since 2003 and has nine years environmental consulting industry experience.

Awards

Dale W. Egleston was chosen 2006 Employee of the Year by his fellow employees at Electro-Glass Products of Norvelt. He joined the company in 1986 as a press unloader and presently serves as senior inspector in the quality control department.

Speakers

Anthony D. Romero , national executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, was the keynote speaker at the ACLU Greater Pittsburgh Chapter annual meeting on March 18. He addressed current issues such as the Patriot Act, abuse of presidential power, treatment of detainees held at Guantanamo and warrantless wiretapping of Americans.
