Party politics

The actions by Florida and Michigan to move their primaries, and the penalty they are facing for exercising their prerogative, makes it evident the political establishment does not like to have its authority questioned.

Winner-take-all primaries do nothing but cede power to the establishment of both major parties, and that is not good for our representative democracy. The next mousetrap the Democrat political establishment built into its convoluted system to protect its power is the use of superdelegates — again, not for the good of our representative democracy.

Everyone can see how the Democrat establishment is circling the wagons around Sen. Hillary Clinton.

I am not an Obama supporter. I will vote for him in the primary because he is beating the establishment using its own rules. In the general election, I most likely will not vote for president because I don't believe either party has presented the best candidate available.

I hope that after this awakening the people within the parties will form splinter parties. We the people want our country and government back from the political power brokers — now.
