COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gary Roberts and Mark Recchi will return to the Penguins in 2007-08, as both players agreed to one-year contracts with the club, it was announced today.

General manager Ray Shero closed the deals with agent Rich Curran prior to the NHL Draft.

Financial terms of the deals are not known, but Canadian web site is reporting that Roberts will earn $2.5 million and Recchi potentially $2 million after bonuses.

Roberts, who turned 41 on May 23, scored seven goals in 19 regular-season games with Pittsburgh and tied for the team-lead with three playoff tallies. He was acquired from Florida for defenseman Noah Welch at the trade deadline.

Recchi, 39, scored 24 goals and recorded 68 points in his third tour of duty with the Penguins.
