It will be all right to turn left from the 31st Street Bridge starting in November. The block of Penn Avenue between 31st and 32nd Streets will become a two-way street starting Nov. 2 to give drivers more options as they come into the Strip District. Now, Penn Avenue is one-way from 32nd Street to Downtown. The change will make it possible for drivers on 31st Street to turn onto Penn Avenue heading outbound toward Lawrenceville. PennDOT plans to close lanes on Penn Avenue starting Oct. 25 to make the change. PennDOT's two-year rehabilitation of the 31st Street Bridge, a $26.8 million project, is scheduled to end within weeks. About 7,000 vehicles use the bridge daily.
