An Allegheny County man allegedly led Greensburg police on a five-mile chase on Tuesday before he was apprehended in a wooded area.

Police spotted the maroon 2003 Pontiac that Joshua David Barr was driving at 3:15 a.m. on Route 819, city police Capt. George Seranko said. Earlier, officers had received a transmission from Murrysville authorities, who were looking for the car.

With police following him, Barr, 26, of 7715 Tyler Road, Penn Hills, drove onto Harvey Avenue. He then made a right onto Grant Avenue and went onto North Main Street and Old Salem Road. At Locust Valley Road, he stopped his vehicle and ran into a wooded area, where he was arrested without incident, police said.

Barr was arraigned in Greensburg District Judge James Albert's office on charges of fleeing or eluding police, drunken driving, stop-sign violations and driving while his operating privileges were suspended or revoked.
