Penn State basketball player Stanley Pringle has been charged by University Police with open lewdness and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident March 27 in the school's Pattee Library.

Basketball coach Ed DeChellis released a statement Wednesday on the matter that read: "We are aware of the charges brought against Stanley. He has cooperated fully with the authorities. It wouldn't be fair to make any further statement or judgments until all the facts have been ascertained and the judicial process has had a chance to work."

DeChellis said Pringle's status with the team has not changed and he has not been suspended.

The incident allegedly occurred when Pringle approached a woman in the library's stacks area and began a conversation.

The junior guard played in 31 games last season, starting 12. He averaged 6.9 points a game.
