Members of the Penn-Trafford High School marching band will have new uniforms by the middle of next year.
On Monday, the school board approved a $72,811 purchase from DeMoulin Bros. and Co. of Greenville, Ill., for the uniforms.
The district will pay $18,202.75 now and the rest after July 1.
Superintendent Matthew Harris said the uniforms must be special ordered, and the earliest they will be available is May.
Band uniforms are replaced every seven to 10 years, Harris said.
Donations
The school board also approved donations to three community libraries Monday night.
Thee Penn Area Library will receive $7,000, the Trafford Community Library will receive $3,000, and the Manor Public Library will receive $2,000.
The district made donations in the same amount to each library last year.
High school project
The board approved four previously discussed change orders for the high school remodeling project and added one more to the list.
Ductwork for unit ventilators will cost $30,375, changes to a vinyl base will cost $1,372, and a new stage ramp will cost $10,000. The district will save $8,000 from returning unneeded doors.
The board also add a $3,000 cost for a new light pole in front of the building.
The total cost for the changes are $36,747. The $31 million project is expected to be completed by next school year.
