Mark your calendars for Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m. and bring your friends for a fun-filled evening of dancing at the Penn Trafford High School auditorium.

Teachers will compete for a mirror ball trophy and the title of best dancer at the annual Dancing with the Teachers fundraiser.

The Penn Trafford Community Education Foundation, which sponsors the event, raised more than $8,000 last year through proceeds of the event.

"Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 which will directly support foundation initiatives, including PTCEF's Teacher Grant Program," said Jill Brallier.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors and will be on sale at the Penn Trafford High School on Jan. 20 and will be available the night of the show.

Teachers in the spotlight include Missy Atticks and Nick Mastrioanni, Cathy and Ernie Dettore, Breann Haywood and Michael Marasco, Melissa Candee and Charlie Popovich.

All of the couple's dances were choreographed by Miss Donna of Donna's School of Dance in Murrysville.

Spectacular group dances with Level Green and Sunrise teachers are slated as part of the evening's events, as well as performances by PTHS Encore, Mark Milovats, Donna's School of Dance and the PTHS varsity cheerleaders and more.

The show will be emceed for the second year by Amy Kelly and Dave Spudy. Judges for the contestants will include Dave Babik, Desiree Alba and John Ruane.
