Petrucci posts first win with Ringgold

The waiting is over for Jeff Petrucci.

Petrucci won his first game as Ringgold High football coach Friday when the Rams posted a 24-8 victory at Laurel Highlands to even their Keystone Conference record at 1-1.

Ringgold broke open a 3-0 game with three touchdowns in the second quarter.

Bryan Arbes started the scoring with a 30-yard field goal in the opening period.

The running of Simon Bekavec and passing of Jordan Fowler enabled the Rams to take a comfortable 24-0 lead at halftime.

Bekavec, who finished with 110 yards on 13 carries, scored touchdowns on runs of 16 and 5 yards in the second period,

Jake Spaziani added the other six-pointer on a 39-yard pass from Fowler, who threw for 140

The Rams (1-3) used a three-play drive for their final touchdown as Fowler passes of 20 yards to Spaziani and 42 yards to Dave Bassi preceded Bekavec's 5-yard run.

The Mustangs (1-3, 1-1) didn't get on the board until the fourth quarter on Carmen Congelio's 5-yard pass to Tyler Jodon.

Ringgold is home with Albert Gallatin Friday.

Keystone Oaks 42, Elizabeth Forward 21

The Warriors' losing streak reached 12 in the Big Seven Conference contest.

John Fuhrer ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Eagles, who led 28-7, at halftime.

Elizabeth's Vince Candeloe caught a pair of touchdown passes from sophomore Corey Sevcik in the fourth quarter.

The Warriors (0-4, 0-2) go to Peters Township Friday.

East Allegheny 52,

Yough 30

Monte Ashby ran for 210 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Wildcats in the Interstate Conference.

One of Ashby's scores came on an 85-yard kick return.

Ben Hoffer scored three touchdowns for Yough (1-3, 1- 3).

Yough hosts Greensburg Central Catholic Friday.
