Upon reading the description for Pevonia seaweed soap, which included smoothing cellulite and correcting multiple skin imperfections, I could not wait to try it. No matter the age or condition of your skin, that seemed promising. Full disclosure prompts me to mention that I have a bathroom full of lotions and potions that have made similar claims.

In this case, the Pevonia soap has lived up to expectations. It was not a complete miracle worker, but for the price ($17) it comes pretty close. The soothing fragrance and ease of handling is the first thing I noticed. A hint of green tea, but not overly scented like some products. My skin felt smother, tighter and exfoliated after using. Perfect for applying lotion after — maybe a cellulite busting cream. The only drawback may be the lack of abundant lather, which is a personal preference.

I was curious about the name of the soap. After some research online, it seems to stem from the white water lily, which is a beautiful flower. Use of the Pevonia soap may leave you feeling lovely as well!

Ihave been using the Pevonia Seaweed Exfoliating Soap for a couple of weeks now, and it doesn’t seem to have diminished in size. I am happy to know that it will be around for a while because the scent is addictive. I don’t think its exfoliating properties are noticeable; it didn’t dry out my sensitive skin, but it didn’t smooth and moisturize it either. Is it worth the price? Probably not, but I just might miss the scent enough to buy it again.

Typically I use body wash over bar soap in the shower, but I’m tempted to mix up my routine after trying Pevonia’s Seaweed Exfoliating Soap.

This flat tennis ball-shaped soap provided a lovely, silky lather that moisturized and exfoliated my skin but didn’t dry it out. Ingredients such as seaweed, green-coffee extract and kola nut contributed to a refreshing, light scent. They’re also among ingredients that supposedly smooth skin, reduce cellulite and stimulate circulation. I’m not sure I’ve used the product long enough to gauge long-term effects, but it did leave my skin feeling tighter and softer than traditional bar soaps.

At $17 per bar, the listing price seems a bit high, but it is available at other outlets such as Amazon and Sephora for a more reasonable $12 to $15. I would be interested in incorporating it into my skin care regimen.
