Player to watch: First baseman Fred McGriff is batting .259 with seven homers and 35 RBI.

Pitching matchups: Tonight, Dave Williams (2-5, 5.73 ERA) vs. Mark Prior (1-0, 3.00), 7:05 p.m.; Tuesday, Kris Benson (0-2, 9.64) vs. Matt Clement (2-3, 3.83), 7:05 p.m.; Wednesday, Kip Wells (7-2, 3.47) vs. Jon Lieber (3-3, 3.26), 7:05 p.m.; Thursday, Jimmy Anderson (4-6, 4.68) vs. Kerry Wood (5-3, 2.63), 1:35 p.m.

TV/Radio: The games tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday will be televised by Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh. All four games will be broadcast by KDKA-AM (1020).

Notes: The Pirates are 4-5 against the Cubs this year. They lost two of three games to the Cubs at PNC Park in April and dropped three of four last week at Wrigley Field. … McGriff has an eight-game hitting streak, during which he is 15 for 31 with four doubles, four homers and 11 RBI. He has raised his batting average 50 points this month. … The Cubs took a five-game winning streak into yesterday's game. … Wood threw his fourth career shutout Saturday when he beat the Astros.
