A look at how the Pirates' minor league teams fared Saturday:

  • Nashville (14-1) won 5-0 at home against Omaha (Royals). Brian Meadows (3-0) started and won, allowing three hits in seven innings. He struck out four and walked none. RF J.J. Davis was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two stolen bases. LF John Barnes was 2 for 4 with an RBI and stole home as part of a double steal. C Humberto Cota was 2 for 3 with a stolen base.

  • Altoona (7-7) lost 6-5 in 10 innings at home against Bowie (Orioles). The Curve allowed three runs in the ninth. Todd Ozias (0-1) lost in relief of starter Mike Connolly, who allowed one run and four hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked one. LF Josh Bonifay went 3 for 5 with a double. 1B Brett Roneberg was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI. CF Chris Duffy and DH Chan Perry each had two hits and an RBI.

  • Lynchburg (9-2) won 4-0 at Salem (Astros). Bobby Bradley (1-0) started and won his first game since April 30, 2001. He allowed four hits in five innings, striking out five and walking three. CF Vic Buttler and 1B Chris Shelton each went 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored. 3B Jose Bautista went 2 for 4 with a triple.

  • Hickory (13-4) lost 5-3 at Savannah (Expos). Marcus Davila (1-1) lost in relief of starter Nick Gravelle, who allowed one earned run and five hits in five innings. He struck out three and walked two. DH Chris Bass went 2 for 3 with two RBI. C Jose Hernandez went 3 for 4 with an RBI.
