Indianapolis (19-13) lost, 5-1, at home against Richmond (Braves). Bryan Bullington (0-1) allowed three runs off seven hits in six innings in his Class AAA debut. RHP Bradley allowed two runs without recording an out in relief. CF Rich Thompson was the only Indian with more than one hit, finishing the game 2 for 4.
Altoona (16-14) won, 13-10, at home agaist Harrisburg (Nationals). LF Jorge Cortes led the Curve offense, going 4 for 5 with four RBI and three runs scored. C Carlos Maldonado went 3 for 5 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. Matt Peterson (3-2) recorded the win despite allowing six runs off nine hits in 62/3 innings. RHP Justin Kaye captured his sixth save of the season.
Lynchburg (20-13) won, 9-6, at Wilmington (Red Sox). Marcus Davila (3-0) pitched 11/3 innings of perfect relief and Chris Hernandez recorded the save after working two. 2B Victor Mercedes went 2 for 5 with a home run and an RBI. DH Brad Rhea finished 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBI. The Hillcats rallied late, scoring a pair of runs in each of the final two innings.
Hickory (14-19) lost, 7-2, at home against Hagerstown (Mets). SP Kyle Pearson (1-2) allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings. RHP Derek Drage struggled, allowing two solo homers and a two-run shot. RF Antonio Sucre was 2 for 3 with a double that drove in C Neil Walker in the ninth inning.
