Gilbert Brown, one of two recruits signed to play next season for Pitt, has ended his prep school career as the all-time leading scorer at South Kent (Conn.) School. The 6-foot-6 small forward scored 25 points in a 108-58 rout of Philadelphia Rise Academy on Sunday to finish with 1,157 career points. The old record was held by Chris McKenna, who scored 1,032. "It's pretty amazing. Gilbert did it in two years," South Kent coach Raphael Chillious said. Brown averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this season for South Kent (14-15) and 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists as a junior last season, when South Kent posted a 32-9 record and a No. 4 national ranking among prep schools. Brown, who battled wrist and ankle injuries this season, attended West Nottingham (Md.) Academy before enrolling at South Kent. Brown is joined by 6-9 center Austin Wallace of New York LaSalle Academy as Pitt signees for next season.
