Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh are embarking on a $2 million study of how to reduce fatal car accidents along heavily wooded roads. The grant for the project comes from the National Science Foundation. It seeks to extend new mathematical models to real world situations. Pitt professors working on the four-year project will collaborate with researchers from four other universities.
