Pitt’s 2012 Big East schedule released

Pitt will open its Big East football schedule Sept. 6 in an ESPN Thursday night telecast at Cincinnati. The game is five days after the Panthers' opener Sept. 1 at Heinz Field against Youngstown State.

The Big East released schedules for all eight of its teams today. The remainder of Pitt's conference schedule is as follows:

Friday, Oct. 5: at Syracuse (ESPN) 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 13: Louisville TBA

Saturday, Oct. 27: Temple, TBA

Friday, Nov. 9: at Connecticut (ESPN2), 8 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 24: Rutgers, TBA

Saturday, Dec. 1: at South Florida (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2), TBA

Pitt will play five non-conference games:

Saturday, Sept. 1: Youngstown State, 6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 15: Virginia Tech, TBA

Saturday, Sept. 22: Gardner-Webb, TBA

Saturday, Oct. 20: at Buffalo, TBA

Saturday, Nov. 3: at Notre Dame (NBC), 3:30 p.m.
