Allegheny County man pleaded guilty to federal gun and drug crimes
A man with ties to several Allegheny County communities pleaded guilty to federal drug and firearms violations.
Authorities said Maurice Tinsley, 37, formerly of McKees Rocks, Penn Hills and Pittsburgh’s Northside, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of a firearm and ammunition in furtherance of the drug trafficking crime.
Tinsley attempted to distribute between 40 to 60 grams of heroin on July 15, 2016, federal officials said.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 4.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation with assistance from state, Robinson Township, Canonsburg and Pittsburgh police.
