Charges filed in July robbery attempt in Pittsburgh’s Oakland section
Pittsburgh police have issued a warrant for a man suspected in an attempted robbery in the city’s Oakland section in July.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. July 30 when a man allegedly followed a woman into her apartment building and then to her door where he pushed her into the apartment, police said.
The man – later identified as 45-year old Abdul Kenyatta Thrower – tried to take the woman’s wallet and cell phone, police said. Thrower took off when the woman and her roommate, who was already in the apartment, began to scream.
Thrower is charged with robbery, burglary and simple assault, court records show. Police list his address as Pittsburgh’s North Side, though court records list a McKees Rocks address.
