The National Weather Service in Moon issued a flash flood watch from 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 through Friday morning, Oct. 21, 2016 for portions of Western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, east central Ohio, and western Maryland.

The National Weather Service in Moon has issued a flash flood watch from 4 p.m. Thursday through Friday morning for portions of Western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, east central Ohio, and western Maryland.

A low pressure system will bring showers and some thunderstorms beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing into Friday. Rainfall amounts of 1½ to 3 inches are expected with heavier amounts possible in some areas, which may trigger flash flooding.

In Western Pennsylvania, the watch area includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland counties and the mountain ridges in Fayette and Westmoreland.
