Allegheny County and McKeesport police are continuing to investigate the shooting of a 22-year-old man early Sunday outside the Elks Lodge in McKeesport.

The county police homicide unit reported city police and paramedics were summoned to the 1100 block of Walnut Street about 2:45 a.m. after receiving dispatch reports of a shooting.

City police discovered a 22-year-old man there suffering a gunshot wound to the chest. Police said he was transported by ambulance to an area trauma center, where he was reportedly in critical condition.

County homicide detectives are investigating.

The victim was not identified.
