Moon Township stabbing suspect faces homicide, other charges
A man suspected in Monday’s stabbing death of a man in Moon Township is awaiting arraignment, Allegheny County Police said Wednesday afternoon.
Timothy Pauley, 34, a West Virginia native who most recently lived in Moon Township, was moved from a hospital to the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, police said.
Carnegie police responded late Monday to a reported armed robbery in the parking lot of the CVS store on Chestnut Street and found Pauley with a gunshot wound to the arm, according to county police. Pauley told them he had been shot while being robbed at gunpoint, police said.
Less than a half-hour earlier, police in Moon found Thomas Garner, 48, suffering from multiple stab wounds at an address in the 300 block of McKinney Drive.
Police said Garner told them he fired a gun at a man who stabbed him. Garner was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators determined Pauley stabbed Garner, police said.
Pauley faces charges of homicide, tampering with evidence and making false reports to law enforcement.
