Newsmaker: Dennis Wilke
Noteworthy: Last month, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald presented Wilke and Rosedale Technical College with a proclamation honoring the institution as the county’s newest college and acknowledging its recent success in preparing graduates for jobs in skilled trades. Wilke will serve as a board member for the Rural Community College Initiative, which will meet for the first time next month.

Background: Wilke worked for May Department Stores Co., the parent company of Kaufmann’s department stores, for 14 years. He became vice president and controller of the company’s Houston-based Foley’s department stores. He started working for Rosedale as a vice president in 2005, then took over the presidency from his father.
Education: Wilke graduated from Meadville High School and earned degrees in economics and philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University.
