One lane of Route 51 in Brentwood will remain closed through the afternoon as crews work to fix a fire hydrant damaged by a tractor trailer.
Gary Lobaugh, spokesman for Penn American Water, said the company hopes to have the repairs completed by mid- to late afternoon. One lane between Greenlee Road and Stuart Avenue remains closed.
Penn American Water officials said the driver of the tractor trailer pulled over to rest and struck the hydrant. The hole created is not in the roadway, but water spilling into the road froze quickly.
About 70 nearby residents are without water while repairs are made.
