WOW Air has expanded service from Pittsburgh International to Reykjavik, Iceland.

The airline now offers flights to and from Iceland five days a week — Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

The Iceland-based carrier was previously offering service four days a week. Last week, it added Thursday service, said Bob Kerlik, airport spokesman. The airline started serving Pittsburgh International in June 2017 .

As an incentive, the airport paid the airline $800,000 in state Department of Community and Economic Development grant money over two years.

In exchange, the carrier agreed to provide at least four round-trip flights per week through June 2019.
