Pittsburgh City Council is considering paying more than $12,000 in veterinary bills for a city police dog fatally stabbed in January while officers apprehended a fugitive in Lawrenceville.
Council on Tuesday introduced resolutions that would pay the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center in Ohio Township $12,991 for emergency care rendered to Rocco Jan. 28-30 until the dog died.
John Rush, 21, of Stowe is awaiting trial on charges related to Rocco’s stabbing.
