Bruce Molyneaux

  • Residence: Forest Hills

  • Age : 47

  • Family: Wife, Susan

  • Occupation : Clinical social worker at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh; Molyneaux is assigned to the neurology department and works in the muscular dystrophy clinic

  • Noteworthy : Molyneaux recently won an "Excellence in Social Work" award from the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care, southwestern Pennsylvania chapter. He was one of four social workers to win the award. He was nominated for the award by Dr. Jonathan Finder, a pediatric pulmonologist at Children's, who wrote that Molyneaux is "truly one of the great unsung heroes of this hospital." His nomination was based on Molyneaux's work to obtain medical equipment for muscular dystrophy patients that helps them cough, something they lose the ability to do because of muscle deterioration.

  • Quote: "The award just came out of the blue. I was floored when the woman called me to tell me I received it. I didn't even know I was nominated," Molyneaux said. "It means a lot. It's certainly nice to be recognized for the things I do on a day-to-day basis."
