Yvonne Anderson ("Ms. Cookie")

  • Noteworthy: Anderson, who works as a line officer at Shuman Juvenile Detention Center, an Allegheny County-run facility in East Liberty for children accused of crimes, last month was named Line Officer of the Year by the Juvenile Detention Centers of Pennsylvania. The association represents 23 youth detention centers statewide. Anderson has worked for 24 years at the 130-bed center, which is for children ages 10-17 charged with serious crimes who are awaiting court action.
