IOSCO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities said Friday the body of a Western Pennsylvania woman who was caring for her mother in Michigan has been found under the deck of a home.

The Livingston County sheriff's department said Kalin Rose Woods, 24, of Pittsburgh was found Thursday after her mother reported not seeing her for a few days. The cause of death is under investigation.

According to public records, Woods lived in Oakland. Her family, who lives in Franklin Park, declined to comment.

“I knew her growing up. I was best friends with her brother Jared. She was quiet when she was younger but then became more outgoing,” said Jordan Voloch of Ambridge, who grew up in the same Franklin Park neighborhood as Woods.

The home where Woods body was found is in Iosco Township, about 45 miles northwest of Detroit. Iosco is 36 miles from Ann Arbor, where Woods' mother had been hospitalized, reported WHMI-FM.
