A new www.pleasanthillspa.com website is running.

“But it is still being tweaked,” borough Councilman Gregory Smith told his colleagues on Monday.

Data Blueprints LLC designed the website. It has front-page notices such as one about summer job applications, as well as various links.

One is to a history dating the earliest settlement in the borough to 1774. Another is about Community Day (Aug. 10).

There are links to Baldwin EMS and the borough's volunteer fire department, whose annual fund drive has begun.

“We appreciate the generosity of the community,” assistant Fire Chief Randy Porter said. He reported that the department responded to 30 calls in February.

Baldwin EMS Chief William Plunkett reported an anonymous $5,000 donation to a safe children's program his agency conducts. His crews responded to 113 calls in February, 79 for life-threatening causes, with an average response time of 5.8 minutes.

Smith said the borough arboretum will have bird walks on April 14, 21 and 28 and May 5 and 19, on each occasion beginning at 8 a.m.

Council may hold a brief special meeting prior to its next regularly scheduled session on April 16 at 7 p.m. Solicitor Fred C. Jug Jr. said the meeting may be needed to deal with amendments to the borough zoning ordinance about sandwich board sign regulations, and to rules regarding fences.
