Penn Township police have charged a Plum man in the August burglary of a jewelry store, where $25,000 worth of merchandise was taken.
John A. Scafuri, 37, has been charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief for the Aug. 16 burglary at the Valmax Jewelry Store, Penn Crossing Shopping Plaza, 2062 Penny Lane Drive.
Police were summoned to the scene at 5:31 a.m. that day by a burglar alarm and found four broken windows. Inside the store, five jewelry cases were smashed.
A witness told police two individuals ran out of the store and into a getaway vehicle . Additonal arrests are expected, police said.
