As many as 265 homes in Plum were without natural gas service after a water main break Tuesday.

The water main break occurred shortly after 8 a.m. along Old Leechburg Road near Unity Center Road.

Even after the leak was repaired, water was seeping into a Dominion Peoples gas line. The gas line was repaired in the afternoon, and Dominion Peoples workers went door to door to relight pilot lights.

Emergency shelters were opened, but officials said they were not needed.
