Pittsburgh police continue to investigate a the death of a man who was fatally shot early Saturday after leaving a North Side bar.
Fabian Nixon, 40, of the North Side was found dead in the driver's seat of his car parked near Mr. Jack's Neighborhood, a bar in the 3100 block of McClure Avenue, according to police. Nixon was shot several times inside his car, a forensic investigator at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said.
“We're still looking for anyone to tell us what happened,” said city police Lt. Daniel M. Herrmann. “This is not gang- or group-related that we know. People spoke well of him.”
The shooting happened about 1:55 a.m. Nixon was pronounced dead at 2:09 a.m., according to police. His car was parked near a vacant lot three or four doors down from the bar, Herrmann said.
It does not appear Nixon was in a fight or argument while in the bar, Herrmann said. Detectives were to review surveillance footage from the bar to determine how long he had been there and with whom he sat and talked.
Police have not yet developed suspects in the shooting or determined a motive. Detectives are asking for the public's help.
