Police: Washington Township man put gun to wife's head
A 53-year-old Washington Township man is accused of putting a pistol to his wife's head Sunday then almost hitting township police with his pickup.
Police say Daniel Kenneth Rumon of 361 Gill Road was upset with his wife because she wouldn't give him the access code for her cellphone, according to arrest papers.
Police allege that the couple argued just before 6:30 p.m., with Rumon allegedly striking his wife, throwing her down and choking her before pulling a handgun and pointing it against her forehead.
Police responded to Rumon's address but learned his wife had fled to a residence in Murrysville, with Rumon following. After getting word from Murrysville police that Rumon was heading back to his home, township police waited for him in his driveway.
Police said Rumon, driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup, was “speeding down the driveway,” and stopped just three feet from the police car.
Rumon is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, and single counts of simple assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest and harassment.
Washington Township District Judge Jason Buczak arraigned Rumon and placed him in the West-moreland County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond, pending a March 14 preliminary hearing.
