A Polish woman taken hostage last October in Iraq has been returned to Warsaw, the BBC reported Saturday. Appearing at a press conference alongside Polish Prime Minister Marek Belka, Teresa Borcz Khalifa said it was a “joyous moment.” Borcz Khalifa, who is married to an Iraqi man, had lived in Baghdad for 30 years. Belka did not reveal details of the release. He said it was orchestrated by officials in cooperation with other countries. © Copyright 2004 by United Press International
