So, you got some Christmas cash that’s just burning a hole in your stocking, and you don’t know what to get for yourself.

Well, why not invest in some action-figure fun — pop-star style?

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood proved at the CMA Awards that playing with music dolls is fun, acting out a conversation with their Tim McGraw and Faith Hill fashion figures (Mattel, age 6 and up, $69.95 for set).

USA Today’s Carly Mallenbaum talks to Tiger Beat and Bop editor Leesa Coble about this season’s new pop-star playthings.

Justin Bieber Real Hairstyle Doll

(The Bridge Direct, 6 and up, $17.99)

Warning: A miniature Justin Bieber figure could inspire more than miniature screams. Although earlier Bieber dolls had plastic hair, the newest is the Justin Bieber Real Hairstyle Doll that has, you guessed it, soft, flippable hair. “Besides his voice, Justin’s hair has become his trademark, and turning the doll into a more unique sensory experience is a lot more fun,” Coble says.

The real-hair doll comes in three types: Beach Gear, Music Gear and Travel Gear.

Cody Simpson Basic Doll

(The Wish Factory, 8 to 18, $16.99)

Ken better look out, because Barbie might go for an Aussie this Christmas. Pop star Cody Simpson represents his Gold Coast with a T-shirt and khakis. “Cody Simpson is really coming into his own this year,” Coble says. “There are girls who will go crazy for this doll.”

Another Cody rocks a jean jacket and black pants. Both dolls include a lanyard and guitar pick charm.

Jackie Evancho Collector’s Edition Singing Holiday Doll

(The Bridge Direct, 6 and up, $29.99)

Jackie Evancho is the tiny girl with the huge operatic voice. She stunned audiences across the country on America’s Got Talent, and now, she wants to sing for your family. The Jackie doll is smaller than human Jackie at 14 inches, but her voice is just as big. The doll performs a clip of When You Wish Upon a Star.

Victoria Justice Make It Shine Doll

(Spin Master, 5 and up, $24.99)

On the pilot of Nickelodeon’s “Victorious,” Victoria Justice ‘s Tori Vega character belts out the show’s theme song, thus proving she has the chops for her elite performing-arts school. The Tori Make It Shine doll is based on this episode. Raise Tori’s mini-microphone to her mouth, and she sings. Raise her arm, and fans cheer — for her or for you, it’s your call.

Katy Perry

(Mattel, one of a kind for charity)

Be happy that Mattel opted for the cupcake-inspired dress from Katy Perry ‘s “California Gurls” video (instead of her suggestive bikini top). She has Swarovski crystals on her fishnets, hand-painted tattoos, 70 mini-cupcakes and a waffle-cone stage setup. The Barbie has been auctioned on CharityBuzz.com to benefit Project Angel Food, which delivers free meals to those with life-threatening illnesses.

“Katy Perry is really becoming a high-profile supporter of charities, so turning the doll into a good cause makes a lot of sense,” Coble says.

The doll sold for $13,500, so good thing you didn’t promise your youngster a KatyCat.
