Over the last week, on television, the "loyal opposition" presented two senators (Dick Durbin of Illinois and Barbara Boxer of California) and a representative (John Murtha of Pennsylvania) to explain, specifically, their Iraq "plan."
The two senators proceeded to simply criticize our efforts. The representative stuttered and stumbled about his "plan," as previously stated by him. But now he isn't certain as to the exact timetable or the drawdown number.
Since so much uncertainty exists among our "oversight" personnel, perhaps I can offer them some solutions:
They could follow Sen. John Kerry's idea, after hearing of the collapse of the European Union and Iran negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions. He proposed a summit of responsible religious leaders, including the pope, the archbishop of Canterbury and influential imams and mullahs.
Or they could pursue the proposal of a San Francisco supervisor to eliminate our standing army.
Or maybe just follow the lead of a sitting senator, who fled the Capitol, with his staff, after receiving an orange alert.
Does anyone really believe people like this, in power, will protect the country and its citizens?
