The following are rules and information about the Powerball multi-state lottery game that debuted Thursday in Pennsylvania:
Players select five numbers (represented as white balls) from 1 to 49, plus one number (the red "powerball") from 1 to 42. The odds of correctly picking all six numbers are 80 million-to-1.
The second prize, won by matching the five white balls in any order, is $100,000.
Eight other prizes also are awarded for matching the Powerball number or other combinations of numbers.
Players have 60 days to decide whether to take the cash or the annuity option.
Tickets cost $1, but players also may choose the "power play" option: Pay $2 and any ticket winning less than the jackpot can be multiplied by as much as five times. Before each Powerball drawing, a wheel numbered from 1 through 5 is spun - if 3 comes up, for example, the prize is tripled for winning "Power Play" tickets.
Drawings are at 11 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
States participating in Powerball are: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Indiana, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
