PPG acquires coatings maker Vanex Inc.
PPG Industries Inc. said today it acquired industrial coatings manufacturer Vanex Inc., of Mount Vernon, Ill., for an undisclosed price.
The 44-year-old Vanex makes water-based coatings for use on metal, plastic and wood in the structural steel, building systems, construction and fabricated metals industries. The company employs 20.
"The addition of Vanex and a strong team of experienced, customer-focused employees will add more capabilities to the PPG TrueFinish business," said Keith Prins, general manager for PPG's TrueFinish industrial coatings operation, in a statement.
"The Vanex waterborne coatings are a strong complement to the PPG TrueFinish product offering," said William Wulfsohn, PPG's senior vice president of coatings, in a statement. "What's more, this acquisition will enhance our ability to provide fast turnaround and leading-edge technologies to our customers."
TrueFinish offers a range of liquid and powder coatings to manufacturers, custom coaters and distributors throughout North America.
