A Frederick, Md., film producer was convicted of misdemeanor reckless and negligent driving in the fall 2004 motorcycle death of Shaun Paul Matlock. District Court Judge Frederick Bower Thursday held Ben Meacham responsible for the accidental death of Matlock, who lost control of his bike on U.S. Route 340 near Frederick while performing a wheelie wearing only tennis shoes, a T-shirt and a helmet, the Frederick News-Post reported. Bower noted the action of filming the event contributed to the dangerousness of the stunt. Witnesses described seeing the 23-year-old Meacham, who owns the Holding It Big production company, leaning out of an SUV to film Matlock's stunt before he slammed into a tow-truck bed stopped on the side of the road. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
