We cannot allow personal agendas to supersede the number-one priority of our students receiving a high-quality education.
The Better Education for Students & Taxpayers Association would like to thank the community for its support in our recent lawsuit against the Connellsville Area School Board.
The success of this endeavor was due to your prayers, hard work, dedication, perseverance and support both financially and emotionally. The numerous phone calls to the Department of Education and local government officials were greatly needed and appreciated as were the extra special efforts of attorneys Rich Bower and Mark Brooks; Wendy DeOre; John Over from K2 Engineering of Uniontown; Yvonne Rush; Vinny Traynor, fire and safety inspector; Melissa Tzan; Dr. Jacob Vigdor, expert witness from Duke University; Lynne Vincent; Rocky Younkin; Roxanne Younkin; and all 51 people who had the courage to sign the lawsuit.
News of our success has spread across Pennsylvania, and other communities are looking to us as a beacon in the struggle for education.
BEST will continue to be a watchdog for the community and our children and to ensure that the students of the Connellsville Area School District receive the best education possible in an excellent educationally productive environment. We cannot allow personal agendas to supersede the number-one priority of our students receiving a high-quality education.
The BEST Association will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at Bud Murphy's Shamrock Room in Connellsville.
BEST officers are President Troy Golden, Vice President Beth Geary, Secretary Lynne Ritenour, Treasurer Lynne Vincent and Sergeant-at-Arms Roxanne Younkin.
