As work continues on the $26.5 million Quaker Valley Middle School construction project, administrators are earning back some money on the project -- at least for now.

Quaker Valley administrators now have a $63,000 credit after crews inspected the Graham Street building's insulation, said Joseph Marrone, director of administrative services.

As it turns out, the insulation is protected, he said, so "we can reuse the insulation, upgrade a little bit and still get our 20-year warranty on the roof."

Had crews been forced to remove the coating protecting the insulation, it could have cost the district $125,000 and further delayed the project, Marrone said.
