Directions: Route 28 north to exit 17, Route 356 north for five miles. Scouting the Race: Last weekend, the tour was at Mercer Raceway Park for three fabulous features. There will be just one Friday, a 30-lap event featuring the best V-8 Modified cars in the four-state area. Kevin Bolland of New Brighton won last year’s race in a duel with Ron Smoker, the overall winner last week at Mercer. The BRP Modified Tour has had success at Lernerville since its first stop in 1998. Winners include Brian Swartzlander (1998), Jim Weller (1999), Rodney Beltz (2000), Ron Smoker (2001) and Bolland last year. Last season, 102 drivers took part in the BRP Modified Tour. Smoker is the all-time tour winner with eight victories, followed by Jeff Hoffman and Bolland, with six apiece.
