Why are John Murtha's comments concerning rednecks in Western Pennsylvania so offensive to the people living in that region?
It's the truth.
I grew up in Greene County, graduated from high school there and went on later to West Virginia University.
All you folks living there know it's true. Some people there will not vote for a candidate based on race. Why hide or paper over the truth?
I am sure that others are voting for Sen. Obama purely because he is black and there are varying opinions across the spectrum.
But, Western Pennsylvania, don't pretend you're something you're not.
