• April is the deadline for home and commercial building remodelers to be certified in lead-safe procedures and standards. The regulation is the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting rule. It applies to virtually all painters or renovators working in pre-1978 structures.

• Design 3 Architecture converted the Wickes' Furniture showroom warehouse into the 100,000-square-foot Monroeville Convention Center for Oxford Development Co. The center opened this month.

• Turbo Air Inc., a supplier of commercial kitchen equipment, leased 20,000 square feet in a 114,904-square-foot industrial building in the Youngwood Industrial Center. Mark Allison of Investors Real Estate Agency represented the landlord, A&C Property Holdings LLC, and Richard Gasperini of CB Richard Ellis represented Turbo.

• A 15-unit building at 5841 Darlington Road, Squirrel Hill, will be converted by Darlington Road Supportive Housing Inc. into 10 support-service rental units for adults with development disabilities. The developers are Jewish Residential Services and ActionHousing Inc. The Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority has approved a $400,000 loan for the $2 million project.

• Red Lobster restaurants on William Penn Highway and at 5080 Rt. 30., Greensburg, are scheduled to be remodeled.

• Chatham Eastside, the former Eichleay Building, 6585 Penn Ave., East End, that Chatham University purchased in 2008, will house a restaurant operated by Parkhurst Dining Services. The dining area will serve 1,300.

• Laurel Estates, a 56-unit rental community in Uniontown, is offering one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments under auspices of the Fayette County Housing Authority. Developed by Ralph A. Falbo Inc. and Pennrose Properties LLC and built by Mistick Construction, the $15 million complex was financed through Centerline Capital LLC, the state Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and Pennsylvania Home Energy along with the housing authority.

• Anytime Fitness opened a 24-hour co-ed fitness facility in Donaldson's Crossroads Shopping Center, McMurray. A grand opening is scheduled Sept. 25. Anytime plans to open a club at 14 Highlands Mall, Natrona Heights, in November. The 5,000-square-foot facility will be developed by Keller Management Services LLC of Sarver, William Keller, club owner and operator, said.

Transactions

• A building housing a medical clinic at 117 Fox Rd., Monroeville, was purchased by Lilly Holdings LP from Lisa and Daniel L. Goodyear, co-executors of the estate of John J. Bruno, for $1.4 million, according to a deed filed in Allegheny County.

• Bronco Drilling Co. Inc. of Edmond, Okla., paid Edward T. Sitarik $310,000 for a building on 10.25 acres at Rt. 40, Scenery Hill, in North Bethlehem Township, according to a deed filed in Washington County.
