Under Our Wing, a Butler-based affordable housing complex consisting of 24 furnished studio apartments for limited-income individuals, 62 or older, recently was selected by the Pennsylvania Association of Housing and Redevelopment Agencies for the Bellamy Award. This is the highest award given by the state for an affordable housing project. The complex is adjacent to the YWCA which provides property management, supportive services and program supervision for residents. GVA Oxford will handle leasing and Oxford Development Co. will be the property manager for 285 East Waterfront Drive at the Waterfront in Homestead. The two-story, 59,000-square-foot building, purchased by Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada from Continental Real Estate Cos., is fully occupied with Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group headquarters, CECity.com Inc., Continental Real Estate Cos., and Goldblum, Sablowsky and Zemel LLC. Edward P. Doran, GVA Oxford's executive vice president, will supervise leasing while Joseph G. Piccini, Oxford Development's director of property management, will handle the management. Sun Life also purchased a 72,000-square-foot warehouse at the Waterfront. The Tarrtown Road Bridge over Limestone Run in East Franklin, Armstrong County, and the Settlers Cabin Interchange off Parkway West in Robinson Township have received the Outstanding Highway Engineering Awards from the Pittsburgh Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers. Plextronics Inc. of Harmar, a developer of active layer technology for printed electronic devices, has been ranked among the top 50 (27th of 136) of Lux Research's most well-rounded, venture-backed nanotechnology start-up companies. Lux said Plextronics ranked seventh overall in legal and regulatory strength and eighth in the electronics and information technology sector. Leases Federated Mutual Insurance Co., an insurance sales organization, has leased 1,389 square feet in Twin Towers, 4955 Steubenville Pike, Robinson. The University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees has approved a lease for the Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine to consolidate offices and laboratories in 5,679 square feet in the Parkvale Annex Building, with Cityview Properties LLC. Transactions A nursing home at 5511 Baum Blvd., plus properties at 438 and 440 S. Fairmont St., Shadyside, owned by Health & Living Centers Inc., have been sold to Innovative Healthcare Properties LLC of Pine Grove, Pa., for $1,419,800, according to a deed filed in the office of the Allegheny County recorder of deeds. Ethan Allen Retail Inc. has purchased 4685 William Penn Highway, Monroeville, where its store is located. Ethan Allen paid $3.5 million to Tepco Inc., headed by Philip M. Teplitz, according to a deed filed in the office of the Allegheny County recorder of deeds.
